Poppin' Since 1944: Grand Rapids Popcorn Company

Grand Rapids Popcorn Company is one of the longest standing businesses in the Grand Rapids area.  Roy and Rose Darling began selling corn kernels and popping supplies out of their home on the west side of GR in 1944.  In 1984 their nephews Tom and Charles Burns took over the business and expanded to include concession supplies.  The business was always meant to be a wholesale only business but once they began popping fresh popcorn daily, their customer base steadily grew and people regularly asked to buy the freshly popped corn.  In 1991 the business broke ground on their current location, which includes a large retail space to meet their customer demands.

Today Grand Rapids Popcorn Company offers a huge variety of popcorn like the always popular caramel corn and other unique flavors like s'mores, birthday cake, and bacon cheese.  Their newly redesigned website features a large selection of popcorn bags and gifts that can be shipped anywhere in the United States.  The retail store on West River Drive is open 6 days a week and customers who stop in are treated to a fresh bag of popcorn.
